How is the ethnic media holding up under the strains of the recession?

Short Description:

With the US economy in recession, news print media have taken a hit, with major periodicals downsizing or closing their doors. Those that remain have a new deadline to beat – keeping the publication afloat despite shrinking advertising revenue and declining readership. Is the ethnic press, which is primarily supported by ad revenue from their communities, facing the same threats? If so, what would be the consequences to their communities and the broader society should this media sector disappear?
