Submitted by Robin Friedman on Fri, 04/24/2009 - 12:36pm
Short Description:

This Panel of youth media makers from Make the Road NY, HarlemLive, Manhattan Neighborhood Network, and Radio Rookies will discuss their work, and specifically how they see it as a force for change in today's world. How can youth made media move us from HOPE to ACTION? What are print journalists, video and digital journalists, and radio producers doing right now to create lasting social awareness and change? What are examples of projects or moments when they saw their work as a force of change? The panel will be facilitated by young writers from The Word on the Street, a youth produced newspaper in Bushwick, Brooklyn that is part of Make the Road NY. The workshop will begin with questions for the panel from the facilitators, followed by time for questions from the workshop attendees. There will also be time in the end for networking and info sharing.
