Ethnic Media As Social Justice Advocate

Submitted by NYCMA on Wed, 04/15/2009 - 3:49pm
Short Description:

Several surveys in 2008 indicate that crimes of racial violence have increased, particularly against the Latino community, and immigrant deportations have risen in lock-step with the overall economic downturn. What are the implications of such violence for social justice for these communities? What role does the ethnic and community media play to safeguard the communities they serve?
