Short Description:
Radio Rootz, People's Production House Youth Program, invites you to their hands-on workshop.
Staying true to their mission of creating a diverse, ethical, and independent media to bring about change, Rootz youth will discuss the role they play in bringing about this change. In addition, participants will get hands-on training and produce vox pops, which are simple radio projects that highlight the voices of the people. Youth are encouraged to attend!

Presenter One Name:
Kristal Graham: Radio Rootz Program Associate
Presenter One Info:
Currently attends Long Island University. She took part in the Junior Scholars program which teaches youth black history and media. After an introduction to radio through Junior Scholars she became involved in Radio Rootz. Through Radio Rootz her interest changed from majoring in Economics to Radio Journalism. She now majors in Broadcast Journalism. Ever since she was 12 she's set goals and as she matured she realized it was as important to achieve the goals set. For example, she has achieved honor roll throughout her high school career. Her most immense goal is to own her own radio station.

Sidra Khatkhatay: Radio Rootz Lead Trainer
Presenter Two Info:
Sidra joined 2 summers ago. She began as an intern through Rootz' partnership with SAYA! (South Asian Youth Action). There she helped produce an award winning radio feature, Hate Crimes in the South Asian Communities. Sidra is currently a high school senior and has been accepted to NYU.

Marya Tambawalla: Radio Rootz Senior Lead Trainer
Presenter Three Info:
Marya is 20 years old and attends Queens College, majoring in Business/minoring in Communication. She started with Radio Rootz in 2005, as a summer intern. A quick learner, Marya was invited to participate in Radio Rootz' Leadership Institute. She is currently a Senior Lead Trainer.
