Short Description:

Media continues to play a critical role in shaping social/economic/political systems that affect the lives of ordinary people. It influences how policy is shaped, public perception is formed, and how resources are allocated to communities. And yet, there continues to be a dearth of support for grassroots media and fair distribution. There is also a need for a broader strategy to ensure community accountability.

This participatory discussion will bring together funders and grassroots organizations to explore strategies and best practices to strengthen the media justice movement locally and across the nation. We will discuss opportunities and challenges to finding resources for social and media justice groups in order to build and sustain the movement. This workshop is sponsored by the Media Justice Fund of the Funding Exchange.
