The intent of this session is to explore free and open software, tools and resources and how they can support your grassroots campaigns ideologically, as well as, in time, expense and exposure. Part of the session will be dedicated to a “show and tell” of our own workflow from camera to Flickr and Picnik and Jumpcut and finally to our Wordpress blog/website. The remainder of the session will be an open discussion to strategize how we as a community might implement these methodologies (and deal with logistics like technical training). We also hope to explore if there is a desire for a “gateway” to share media, images and resources using these free tools, as well as, sharing and developing training and support materials (and if so, what this gateway would look/feel like).
